Guns...

A gunman in Binghampton, NY., kills 13 innocents with two handguns legally registered in his name.

A gunman in Pittsburgh, Pa., slays three police officers with an assault rifle and handguns registered in his name, claiming to a friend before the attack: "The Obama gun ban is on the way."

I would love to see how gun advocates squirm their way out of accepting responsibility for this. 'The Right to Bear Arms' claimed 16 victims in the last few days, and left dozens more wounded.

And cars claimed how many?

And cigarettes?

And illegal immigrants?

And ... you get the point... well not likely.

Handguns are DESIGNED to kill people.

That's the fundamental difference.

They are designed to be used as a weapon. To kill attackers or animals, you can't fault the gun if the holder misuses it.

Thank God for the 2nd amendment because the criminals are getting guns without the proper documentation, do you think a ban would stop that? There has to be a way for the good guys to get their own weapon.

These are horrible tragedies. In defense of the right to bear arms we are often reduced to having to point out the statistics of lives lost by other means... as ck has done above. This is unfortunate because it seems to belittle the lives lost and that is not the point at all. I wonder how many lives are lost to kitchen knives... no one has ever suggested a ban on knives.

It is the person weilding the weapon that is responsible for the deaths... not the weapon.

Given your post below this one, you'd think you'd consider this guy a more appropriate parallel to the Reichstag Fire than Beck.
