2010 in review

I've heard a lot of people pleased to see the back of 2010, but personally I think I've had a great year. Oh, sure, there have been ups and downs - but resolutely more 'ups' than 'downs.'

As a birthday present, I got laid off - but in retrospect (in fact, even at the time) I realized that it was for the best. I was very lucky to find a great job, with a great new crew, literally next door to where I used to work.

I had an entire year of my little Mini Militant wearing me out, wearing me down and generally causing mischief, confusion and chaos - but wouldn't have missed a minute of it. It's so odd to have started the year with him tottering about, and rung it out with him talking up a storm.

Thanks to those great guys at Jacques, I got to be featured in a fashion photoshoot, and see The Locomotive eclipse my former Gingermobiles by getting involved in a real life drag race, star in a short movie and serve as chariot to a bevvy of beautiful models.

I got to see a lot of my friends have children, a couple of them get married (and far fewer than on average snuff it.) It was, to quote the Chairman of the Board, "a very good year."

And I hope 2011 is going to be even better. Here's hoping.

I don't really have anything much to write, so I thought I'd just post something from each of the last twelve months. Not necessarily the best, or the most noteworthy - but a fond favorite nevertheless.

Enjoy!
I noticed that I blogged exactly half as frequently in 2010 as I did in 2009. I consider that a good sign (I've been too busy.) Nevertheless, I'll make an effort to do better next year. What's more important: I'll make sure to live a life that's worth writing about in 2011!

Allons-y!

This year has been one of the most stressful and horrifying ones of my life. It was also a year that brought great joy in friendship and community. I still am glad to see the end of it.

Happy New Year!
