Home Brew

Rome wasn't built in a day. Nor was the Boston Beer Company.

Nevertheless, my second consecutive attempt at beer brewing is a reluctant success.

The first batch? Which I brewed for Christmas 2007? It was good stuff - cloudly, but with good flavour and richness.

The second lot of 'American lager' seems to have stuck closely to the title and emerged as a yellow beer that tastes surprisingly limp - but no more so than Budweiser or Miller Lite.

This time around, I used Poland Spring water rather than New Jersey's mains offering and that hasn't actually helped. The first batch (chlorinated to within an inch of it's life) seemed to keep more of the flavour of the beer mix.

But this batch might taste weird, but it isn't bad. It isn't bad at all.

Which is good, really, since I've brewed 20 pints of it!
