Knut, an adorable bear cub hand reared by zookeeper Thomas Doerflein, has already dodged Darwin's bullet on two occasions.Abandoned by his mother, Knut only survived when Doerflein took over Mrs Knut's duties and helped the cub struggle through the first weeks of life. Then, outraged 'animal rights' protestors called for Knut's execution (because they love animals so much.)
Just as that threat seemed to pass, an anonymous note arrived at Berlin Zoo with the ominous message: "Knut is Dead! Thursday Midday!"
Fortunately security guards have been posted around Knut's enclosure and the little guy has reduced his public appearances (apparently due to teething and fever... the Diva)
Hopefully he'll stay safe.
Leave Knut alone, dammit!
